We are a collective of artists, designers, historians and digital wizards. Together we form a foundry of innovation and expertise that travels the world. Many of us identify as deaf, disabled, neurodivergent or with hidden disabilities and intersectional health issues.

Cathy Mager

Founder / Artistic Director

Cathy is a deaf artist and curator known for her powerful public realm projects that share new perspectives on equity, climate change and heritage. She specialises in daring, technically challenging and often monumental installations that reveal little known histories. She has delivered exhibitions that highlight the stories of people worldwide including Inuit communities in Greenland, Columbian landfill dwellers, children of the Rio favelas and the Indian and African disapora of Southall. She has worked with Bristol Beacon, Canal & River Trust, Historic Royal Palaces, Southbank Centre, Wellcome Trust and Forestry England. She is a Clore Fellow.

Cat Roberts

Director of Programme & Production

Cat is described as a powerhouse of the music events industry. With over 15 years working within the world of events, the arts, live and immersive experiences. As a Music Agent and founder of ‘On Point Agency’, producing tours for a roster of 40 world renowned artists internationally. Alongside directing her own agency she also manages and programmes Bristol’s largest critically and industry acclaimed event spaces, clubs and venues including Area 404, Central Warehouse, Lost Horizon & Propyard. 

Alice Hu

International Projects Producer & Associate Artist

Alice Hu Xiaoshu is a deaf artist, activist, sign language teacher, sign language interpreter, and sign language performer for music and film. She performs internationally. She holds a Master’s degree in Fine Arts from the University of Applied Arts Vienna and has 15 years of experience in film and theater performances. Her recent works include the films “Kafka, Kiffer and Chaoten” and “Unerhört,” the Renault commercial “Passion for Music,” the Oatly X Alice Hu commercial, the accessible play “Sign Storm,” “Ganymed in Love” for Kunsthistorisches Museum Vienna.

Ngaio Anyia

Associate Artist

Ngaio Anyia is a musician, producer and DJ. She directed Tegan for Netflix, a doc featuring a young black Paralympian. Ngaio has worked with organisations including Boomtown Festival, Shambala and Artspace Lifespace, and has previously collaborated with Cathy Mager on the Lantern Project as part of Bristol Beacon’s venue transformation.

Ben Glover

Associate Artist

Ben Glover is a deaf video designer and creative captioner who uses interdisciplinary skills in both creative and technical fields producing innovative and often expressive creations typically informed by his background in theatre, film and computing. He is a recent Fellow of the Royal Shakespeare Company for his research on creative captioning.

An Di

Associate Artist

An Di is a dancer with the Shanghai Disabled People’s Dance Troupe. In 2024, she participated in the original sign language drama “Jueda (Conveying Awareness)” and Sephora’s International Women’s Day campaign “Beauty Shines Different,” and appeared in a L’Oréal beauty campaign in 2017.

Xianhe Wang

Associate Artist

Wang Xianhe, a former dancer with the China Disabled People’s Performing Art Troupe and the Shanghai Disabled People’s Dance Troupe, has won multiple first prizes in national competitions and toured internationally. His notable works include the dances “Thousand-Hand Bodhisattva” and “Born Ordinary,” the sign language version of “Chinese Classics Reader,” and the original sign language drama “Jueda(Conveying Awareness)”

David Ellington

David Ellington is an award-winning Bristol based creative in shorts, film and TV drama and enjoys working as a Deaf consultant working across the arts/theatre organisations – Watershed, Ad Infinitum, and Flarewave Festival. He was awarded in Bristol’s 100 BME Powerlist 2018.
